U.S. Bancorp names Toby Clements as new chief operations officer

U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB) announced that Toby Clements will become senior executive vice president and chief operations officer effective April 13. Clements will oversee the company's client service centers and global operations teams, leading more than 16,000 employees.
Clements will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Gunjan Kedia and join the company's managing committee. He succeeds Souheil Badran, who announced his retirement from the company earlier this year.
Clements joined U.S. Bank in 2017 as an executive officer in the company's European operations. For the past year, he has led the organization's client service centers. Before joining U.S. Bank, he worked in executive roles at PTSB in Dublin and Tesco Bank in Edinburgh, and held consulting and strategy positions at Navigant and Barclays in London.
He holds a bachelor of laws degree from University of Southampton and a global master of business administration degree from INSEAD.
U.S. Bancorp, headquartered in Minneapolis, is the parent company of U.S. Bank National Association. The company serves 15 million clients throughout the United States, Canada and Europe with nearly 70,000 employees.
