SurgePays, Inc. (NASDAQ: SURG) announced the launch of its Managed Marketing Services platform, a digital marketing network that will be deployed across the company's retail locations. The platform replaces traditional printed signage with smart TVs that display digitally managed content.
The system allows SurgePays to remotely control and update advertisements in real time across its retail network through proprietary software. The platform is designed to promote the company's LinkUp Mobile prepaid wireless and Torch Wireless subsidized wireless services while generating revenue from third-party advertisers.
"This platform allows us to communicate directly with customers inside the store at the exact moment they are making purchasing decisions," said Derron Winfrey, President of Sales and Operations at SurgePays. He added that the company expects the platform to create advertising space for manufacturers and distributors that allocate marketing dollars on a per-store basis.
The Tennessee-based wireless and fintech technology company serves subprime and underserved consumers through its nationwide retail footprint. SurgePays operates point-of-sale platforms in thousands of retail locations that enable wireless activations, top-ups, and financial transactions.
According to the company, convenience stores represent high foot-traffic retail environments where customers visit multiple times per week. The digital screens are intended to reach consumers at neighborhood stores where purchasing decisions are made.
SurgePays stated that as it expands its retail footprint, each additional screen should increase the company's ability to acquire customers and generate advertising revenue. The platform is part of the company's strategy to create multiple revenue streams including wireless service, fintech transactions, and marketing services.
