Rani Therapeutics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: RANI) appointed Jesper Høiland as head of strategy, the clinical-stage biotherapeutics company announced. Høiland had served as a strategic adviser to the company since 2023.
In the newly created role, Høiland will shape Rani's corporate and pipeline strategy, including prioritization of internal programs and evaluation of new therapeutic opportunities. He will also support the company's partnering and business development efforts.
Høiland brings more than 30 years of pharmaceutical leadership experience. He most recently served as global commercial officer at Ascendis Pharma, where he oversaw worldwide commercial strategy. Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of Radius Health and held leadership positions at Novo Nordisk's U.S. operations.
During his career, Høiland contributed to the development and commercialization of therapies including Novo Nordisk's insulin analog portfolio, Tresiba, Tymlos and Skytrofa.
"Jesper is a highly respected leader with a rare combination of strategic insight and deep commercial experience," said Talat Imran, chief executive officer of Rani Therapeutics. "As we continue to expand our pipeline and evaluate new opportunities for the RaniPill platform, Jesper will play a critical role in helping us prioritize the most impactful programs."
Rani Therapeutics focuses on oral delivery of biologics and drugs through its RaniPill capsule technology, which is designed to replace subcutaneous injection or intravenous infusion with oral dosing. The company has conducted preclinical and clinical studies to evaluate safety, tolerability and bioavailability using the platform.
The information was disclosed in a company press release.
