New Relic (NYSE: NEWR) appointed Wendi Sturgis to its board of directors, the observability platform company announced. Sturgis brings more than two decades of experience scaling technology companies and currently serves as senior vice president at Yext, overseeing strategy and growth outside North America.
Previously, Sturgis served as CEO of Cleverbridge, where she led the company's transformation into what the company described as a high-growth engine for global technology firms. Her background includes leadership roles at Yahoo!, where she oversaw billion-dollar revenue organizations, and experience with enterprise software international expansion.
Sturgis completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's AI/ML Intensive program and has served on multiple boards including Sabre, The Container Store and the Georgia Tech Foundation. During her tenure at Yext, she built a customer success organization that maintained a retention rate exceeding 90%, according to the company.
"Wendi brings a wealth of experience from running companies, to transforming GTM teams and focus," said New Relic CEO Ashan Willy. "Her rare combination of sales, technical, and international expertise—coupled with her leadership in AI-led strategies—will be pivotal as we scale through our next phase of growth in this dynamic market."
The appointment comes as New Relic positions itself in the artificial intelligence observability market. Sturgis has experience with major technology transactions, including oversight of the $1 billion sale of Kustomer to Meta Platforms.
"I look forward to supporting New Relic as it helps enterprises move from experimentation to execution, ensuring their AI systems are performant, governed, and secure," Sturgis said.
