Microbot Medical Inc. (NASDAQ: MBOT) announced the publication of its ACCESS PVI pivotal study results in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. The study evaluated the company's LIBERTY Endovascular Robotic System for peripheral vascular procedures.
The published article, titled "In Vivo Evaluation of a Disposable Endovascular Robotic System for Arterial Peripheral Vascular Interventions: A Multicenter Feasibility Study," was authored by Dr. Francois Cornelis, who served as the lead principal investigator for the study. The ACCESS-PVI study was completed in 2025 and previously presented at the Society of Interventional Radiology annual meeting in April 2025.
The LIBERTY system received FDA clearance in September 2025 for peripheral endovascular procedures. According to the company, it is the only FDA-cleared, single-use, remotely operated robotic system for such procedures. The system is designed for vascular navigation while reducing radiation exposure and physical strain.
"We are very pleased by the publication of the ACCESS-PVI results in JVIR, a leading voice in the field," said Juan Diaz-Cartelle, Chief Medical Officer. "This is a recognition that speaks to the quality and impact of the study."
Microbot Medical began a limited market release of the LIBERTY system in late 2025. The company plans a full market release at the Society of Interventional Radiology conference in April 2026.
The Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology has been published continuously since 1990 and serves the interventional radiologist community. The publication underwent peer review, which the company describes as the standard for clinical validation.
