Aurinia names board chair Kevin Tang as new CEO

Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: AUPH) announced Kevin Tang, the company's board chair, will succeed Peter Greenleaf as chief executive officer. Greenleaf will continue as a consultant during the transition period.
Tang thanked Greenleaf for his contributions during his seven-year tenure with the company. The biopharmaceutical company also appointed Ryan Cole as chief operating officer, Michael Hearne as chief financial officer, and Thomas Wei as chief scientific officer.
Stew Kroll will remain as chief development officer and Stephen Robertson will continue as general counsel, according to the company statement.
Aurinia focuses on therapies for autoimmune diseases. The company markets LUPKYNIS, an oral therapy approved by the FDA in January 2021 for treating adult patients with active lupus nephritis. The company is developing aritinercept, which targets B cell-activating factor and a proliferation-inducing ligand for potential autoimmune disease treatment.
The management changes are effective immediately, based on information from the company's press release.
