TMY Technology Inc. (TMYTEK) and Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced the development of advanced user terminal solutions for satellite communications, according to a press release.
The collaboration produced two terminal solutions: a software-defined Ku/Ka multi-orbit electronically steered antenna (ESA) integrated terminal and a passive slotted-waveguide antenna terminal. The integrated terminal combines Comtech's ELEVATE user terminals with TMYTEK's ESA technology to support connectivity across Geostationary Orbit (GEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), Low Earth Orbit (LEO), and non-terrestrial networks.
The passive slotted-waveguide antenna terminal integrates Comtech's ELEVATE digital user terminal technology with TMYTEK's passive slotted-waveguide beamforming technology. The terminal consumes 90% of the energy required by ESA antennas while delivering equivalent gain for the same surface area.
"Our partnership with TMYTEK started in 2025, within the Canada-Taiwan EUREKA Program," said Daniel Gizinski, President of Comtech's Satellite & Space Communications Segment. "This partnership has enabled us to bring Comtech's decades of differentiated expertise and industry leadership into state-of-the-art, complementary technology, for the benefit of our global customers."
Ethan Lin, Co-founder and Vice President of TMYTEK, stated that the partnership "represents a transformative leap in satellite communications" and provides customers with "greater flexibility, scalability, and performance across diverse deployment scenarios."
The terminals target applications including commercial broadband, high-altitude platform systems, government and defense communications, enterprise networks, and critical infrastructure protection. The solutions are designed for various deployment scenarios from fixed installations to emergency response operations.
