ZenaTech targets under $5,000 price for Interceptor P-1 defense drone

ZenaTech Inc. (NASDAQ: ZENA) announced its ZenaDrone Interceptor P-1, a single-use autonomous drone designed to intercept hostile aircraft, will target a selling price of under $5,000.

The company disclosed it has initiated development of the prototype interceptor drone through its ZenaDrone subsidiary. The autonomous vertical takeoff and landing drone is designed to physically intercept hostile drones in flight as part of a counter-unmanned aircraft system defense offering.

"We are engineering the Interceptor P-1 with a clear goal: maximize performance while minimizing cost," said Shaun Passley, ZenaTech CEO. "The Interceptor P-1 is a critical piece of ZenaDrone's integrated defense ecosystem, designed to work seamlessly with our interceptor platforms and marine launch station."

The Interceptor P-1 addresses cost disparities in modern warfare where adversaries deploy low-cost commercial and military drones while conventional intercept solutions carry significantly higher costs, according to the company's statement.

The drone will offer multiple launch options including ground, vehicle and maritime deployment via the company's IQ Glider maritime drone platform. ZenaTech plans the system to respond across multiple environments and complement existing air defense systems.

ZenaTech targets initial prototype completion in the coming months and will provide updates on development progress, regulatory milestones and defense agency engagement.

The company cited Markets and Markets data showing the global counter-unmanned aircraft system market growing over 25% annually and projected to exceed $10 billion by 2030. ZenaTech management believes the Interceptor P-1 positions the company for procurement opportunities with allied governments, NATO partners and Gulf Cooperation Council defense customers.
