Hims & Hers Health Inc. (NYSE: HIMS) announced the addition of compounded semaglutide pills to its weight loss treatment options, with introductory pricing starting at $49 for the first month.
The San Francisco-based health platform said the needle-free treatment contains the same active ingredient as Wegovy and is designed for patients who prefer oral medication over injections. The pill is formulated to protect the active ingredient during digestion and support absorption.
The introductory pricing applies to new qualifying weight loss customers with a five-month plan, where the first month costs $49 and remaining months are priced at $99 monthly, paid upfront. Standard pricing applies after the promotional period.
"We have spent years building the infrastructure required to put the power of choice back into the hands of the individual," said Andrew Dudum, co-founder and CEO. The company stated that providers can tailor treatments for patients who are averse to needles or seeking to balance side effects.
The company noted that compounded drug products are not approved or evaluated for safety, effectiveness, or quality by the FDA. The compounded product uses a different formulation and delivery system than FDA-approved oral semaglutide.
Hims & Hers said it sources all active pharmaceutical ingredients from FDA-registered facilities and adheres to federal and state regulatory standards for compounding. The company expanded its facility footprint to over one million square feet in 2025, integrating pharmacy capabilities, lab testing, and research space.
The treatment is available as part of a weight loss plan if prescribed by a provider after an online consultation. The platform offers various weight loss medications including branded, generic, and compounded options alongside care team support.
