NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) announced the general availability of its Jetson AGX Thor developer kit and production modules, robotics computers designed for physical AI applications across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and other industries.
The Jetson Thor system delivers 7.5 times more AI compute performance and 3.5 times greater energy efficiency compared to its predecessor, Jetson Orin, according to the company's press release. The system features an NVIDIA Blackwell GPU with 128GB of memory and provides up to 2,070 FP4 teraflops of AI compute within a 130-watt power envelope.
Early adopters include Agility Robotics, Amazon Robotics, Boston Dynamics, Caterpillar, Figure, Hexagon, Medtronic and Meta. Companies including 1X, John Deere, OpenAI and Physical Intelligence are evaluating the technology.
"The development of capable humanoid robots hinges on our ability to run powerful AI models directly on the robot, enabling real-time learning and interaction," said Brett Adcock, founder and CEO of Figure.
Tye Brady, chief technologist at Amazon Robotics, stated that the system "offers the computational horsepower and energy efficiency necessary to develop and scale the next generation of AI-powered robots."
NVIDIA reported that over 2 million developers use its robotics stack, with more than 7,000 customers utilizing Jetson Orin for edge AI applications across industries. The company said its Jetson platform has attracted an ecosystem of over 150 hardware system, software and sensor partners since 2014.
The Jetson AGX Thor developer kit is priced starting at $3,499. Jetson T5000 production modules are available through worldwide distribution partners, with production systems and carrier boards available from embedded partners.
