DA Davidson on impact of tariffs on Health & Beauty/ Leisure stocks
DA Davidson analyst Linda Bolton Weiser shared in a note with clients an update on Health & Beauty/ Leisure stocks under coverage that they see as most likely to be impacted by US tariffs.
The analyst said, "We think stocks likely to be hit most on the tariff news are BUY-rated e.l.f. Beauty (ELF), BUY-rated Mattel (MAT), and NEUTRALrated Helen of Troy (HELE). On ELF, we note that its gross margin expanded through the 25% China tariffs years ago. MAT's China exposure is much lower than the toy industry average and 50% of sales are outside the U.S. In addition to its China sourcing, HELE has sizable Mexico sourcing. The stocks we cover that are most immune to tariffs are HPC stocks like Estee Lauder (EL), Interparfums (IPAR), and Procter & Gamble (PG), all rated BUY, and NEUTRAL-rated Clorox (CLX). BUY-rated WD-40 (WDFC) also has low exposure."
