Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) has appointed Anat Ashkenazi as its new chief financial officer (CFO), bringing on board a seasoned executive with two decades of experience at Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY).
Ashkenazi will assume the role of CFO and senior vice president of Google and Alphabet, effective July 31.
In July 2023, Alphabet announced that Ruth Porat would transition to a new position as president and chief investment officer. Porat will remain in her CFO role until Ashkenazi begins, ensuring a smooth transition through the company's second-quarter earnings report.
Earlier on Wednesday, Eli Lilly confirmed that Ashkenazi is stepping down from her position as CFO of the U.S. pharmaceutical company.
“On behalf of our board of directors, leadership team and employees, I would like to thank Anat for her 23 years of outstanding service to our company," said David A. Ricks, Lilly's chair and CEO.
"During her last three years as Lilly's CFO, we have experienced tremendous growth and laid the groundwork to help us reach even more patients with our medicines. I want to personally thank Anat for her partnership, friendship, and leadership of our financial organization and to wish her well in her new role.
