Ford (F) monthly EV sales down 9.1% Y/Y following UAW strike

Detroit’s Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) released their sales results for the month of October 2023, reporting a 5.3% drop in total U.S. sales. The report follows a strike by the United Auto Workers (UAW). For nearly six weeks, the union staged walkouts at various key facilities before reaching a labor deal last week.
The company's total October sales amounted to 149,938 vehicles, down from 158,327 units sold during the same period last year.
According to the release, Ford sold a total of 6,831 electric vehicles during the month, a 9.1% increase over the same time last year. To date, the Detroit automaker has sold 53,502 EVs, a 12.6% boost over the same time last year.
Sales of the company’s Mustang Mach-E dropped 10.6% Y/Y, while sales of the brands popular F-150 Lighning EV pickup were up 52.4%.
Shares of F are up 1.85% in early trading Thursday.
