Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has begun deliveries of their Model 3+ "Highland" electric vehicle in the another European country as drivers from the Netherlands report receiving their newly-designed vehicles this morning.
Following the earlier launch of the Model 3+ by Tesla a few months back, deliveries officially kicked off earlier this month, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding the timeline for the automaker's release of the upgraded Model 3 to consumers.
Deliveries had already begun in several other countries by mid-October, spanning Europe and the Middle East, where several Highland Model 3 units were already reaching their respective customers. The Netherlands is now joining the list, marking its turn for the arrival of the new Model 3.
The electric automaker made several modifications to both the exterior and interior designs, as well as the features of the new Model 3, and ramped production of the EV at its Gigafactory in Shanghai late last month.
While the initial delivery within Europe took place in Germany, Tesla has been extending the availability of the updated Model 3 to diverse countries across the continent, such as France and Poland.
Arriving right on schedule for the fourth quarter, the new Model 3 aligns with Tesla's ambitious target of achieving 1.8 million vehicle deliveries by the end of 2023.
With deliveries already underway in the Eastern Hemisphere, the Model 3 Highland is expected to contribute significantly to Tesla's annual objective.
Prior to the official launch, the Netherlands was one of the last to witness Model 3 Highland testing activities, with reports of the vehicle cruising along highways in proximity to local Tesla Service Centers and Showrooms.
Shares of TSLA are down 2.66% near end of day trading on Thursday.
