Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced today that it plans to hold a new two-day global shopping event for Prime Members on October 11 and 12 in 15 countries.
The event, called “Prime Early Access Sale,” will be available to Prime members living in Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the UK, and the U.S.
“We are so excited to help Prime members kick off the holiday season with Amazon’s new Prime Early Access Sale—an exclusive opportunity for members to get deep discounts on top brands we know they are looking for this time of year,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime.
This way, Amazon is aiming to capture more holiday spending and boost its revenue generation from the holiday season. The e-commerce giant will also hope that more and more customers will buy its Prime subscriptions.
Amazon shares are down 0.5% in pre-open Monday.
