Duoling (DUOL) Shares Jump 13% Following Q4 Beat

Duolingo, Inc. (NASDAQ: DUOL) shares rose around 13% after-hours following the company’s reported strong Q4 results, with EPS coming in at ($0.46), above the consensus estimate of ($0.68). Revenue grew 51% year-over-year to $76 million, beating the consensus estimate of $68.88 million.
Total bookings increased 59% year-over-year to $90.8 million, and subscription bookings increased 61% year-over-year to $69.8 million. The number of paid subscribers rose 56% year-over-year to 2.5 million. Monthly active users (MAUs) were 42.4 million (up 15%) and Daily active users (DAUs) were 10.1 million (up 20%), both of which represent their all-time highs.
For the full 2021-year, total bookings were $294.2 million, up 55% vs. 2020, and subscription bookings were $224.5 million, up 56% vs. 2020. Total revenue increased 55% from 2020 to $250.8 million.
