T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) shares rose 9% after-hours following the company’s reported Q4 results, with EPS coming in at $0.34, better than the consensus estimate of $0.18. Revenue was $20.79 billion (vs. Street’s $21.09 billion), with Service revenues of $15.0 billion, up 6% year-over-year.
The company reported postpaid net account additions of 315,000 in Q4 and 1.2 million in full 2021-year, postpaid net customer additions of 1.8 million in Q4 and 5.5 million in 2021, and postpaid phone net customer additions of 844,000 in Q4 and 2.9 million in 2021.
The company continues to rapidly expand its 5G footprint. As of the end of 2021, its 5G network covers 310 million people across 1.8 million square miles, delivering nearly 5x more geographic coverage than Verizon and nearly 2x more than AT&T.
The company provided its full 2022-year outlook, the strength of which reflects continued industry-leading postpaid customer growth and merger synergies. The company expects Postpaid net customer additions to range from 5.0 million to 5.5 million. Core Adjusted EBITDA is expected to range from $25.6 billion to $26.1 billion, representing around 10% year-over-year growth at the mid-point.
