Norfolk Southern (NYSE: NSC) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.80 per share, or $3.2 annualized. This is an 11.1% increase from the prior dividend of $0.72.
The dividend will be payable on September 10, 2018, to stockholders of record on August 6, 2018, with an ex-dividend date of August 3, 2018.
The annual yield on the dividend is 1.9 percent.
"In recognition of our strong results and financial position and our confidence in the future of Norfolk Southern, the board voted to increase the quarterly dividend for the second time this year," said James A. Squires, Norfolk Southern chairman, president and CEO.
