Broadwind Energy (NASDAQ: BWEN) reported Q4 EPS of ($0.43), $0.15 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.28). Revenue for the quarter came in at $17.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $19.03 million.
Highlights:
- 2017 orders of $88 million include sustained strong Gearing segment orders of $37 million and Process Systems segment orders of $16 million
- 2017 revenue of $147 million – 41% lower tower sales volumes, partially offset by increases in other segments
- Full year EPS loss of $.21 attributable to low tower production in second half of year
- “Towers and Weldments” segment renamed “Towers and Heavy Fabrications” to reflect expanded manufacturing competencies and a broader commercial strategy
- 2018 market outlook significantly improved due to accelerating commercial momentum
