Waste Management (NYSE: WM) reported Q4 EPS of $0.85, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.83. Revenue for the quarter came in at $3.65 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.57 billion.
- Revenues for the fourth quarter of 2017 were $3.65 billion, compared with $3.46 billion for the same 2016 period.
- Net income for the quarter was $903 million, or $2.06 per diluted share, compared with net income of $335 million, or $0.75 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2016.(a)
- On an as-adjusted basis, earnings per diluted share were $0.85 for the fourth quarter of 2017, compared with $0.75 for the fourth quarter of 2016.(b)
2018 OUTLOOK
The Company announced the following regarding its financial outlook for 2018:
Revenue Growth
- Core price is expected to be 4.0% or greater for 2018.(c) Internal revenue growth from yield on the collection and disposal business is expected to be 2.0% or greater.
- Internal revenue growth from volume is expected to be between 2.0% and 2.2%.
