KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo sees Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) liquid crystal polymer (LCP) FPCB adoption picking up, not only for the iPhone, but likely across iPad, MacBook, and Apple Watch lines starting in 2018.
LCP is necessary for all high-speed & low latency applications and plays a crucial role in the iPhone X, Kou highlights. He said LCP FPCB is featured in the Face ID module in order to prompt a very quick response.
Kuo said given the very high entry barriers in terms of design and production, they believe Murata (JP) and Career (6153 TT, NT$47.5, NR) will emerge as key players under the Apple (US) LCP FPCB theme and keep at bay new entrants at least until 2019.
