UPDATE: Carnival Corp. (CCL) Tops Q3 EPS by 9c; Guides Low end of FY17 EPS Higher, Q4 Lower

Carnival Corp. (NYSE: CCL) reported Q3 EPS of $2.29, $0.09 better than the analyst estimate of $2.20. Revenue for the quarter came in at $5.5 billion versus the consensus estimate of $5.39 billion.

Changes in fuel prices (including realized fuel derivatives) and currency exchange rates compared to the prior year are expected to decrease earnings by $0.33 per share. Taking the above factors into consideration, the company expects full year 2017 adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $3.64 to $3.70 compared to June guidance of $3.60 to $3.70 and 2016 adjusted earnings per share of $3.45. (*** consensus is $3.73)

The company expects adjusted earnings per share for the fourth quarter 2017 to be in the range of $0.44 to $0.50 versus 2016 adjusted earnings per share of $0.67 (*** consensus is $0.63).
