Franklin Resources (NYSE: BEN) reported Q1 EPS of $0.77, $0.09 better than the analyst estimate of $0.68. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.56 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.59 billion.
"We had a strong first fiscal quarter in terms of investment performance which extended the strong rebound of performance in 2016,” said Greg Johnson, Chairman and CEO of Franklin Resources, Inc. “The impact of rising rates during the quarter was felt across geographies and sectors, and contributed to shifts in market leadership in a number of areas.
