Big Lots (BIG) Tops Q1 EPS by 12c; Comps Rose 3.0%; FY16 EPS Outlook Raised

Big Lots (NYSE: BIG) reported Q1 EPS of $0.82, $0.12 better than the analyst estimate of $0.70. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.31 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.3 billion.
Comparable store sales for stores open at least fifteen months increased 3.0% for the quarter, compared to our guidance of an increase in the low single digits.
GUIDANCE:
Big Lots sees FY2016 EPS of $3.35-$3.50, versus the consensus of $3.30.
