March 28, 2016 11:30 AM EDT

Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) is said to have removed the 90-kWh battery option for its Model X SUV. News comes as recent speculation pegs Tesla aiming to offer a 100-kWh battery at some point.

Electrek.co cites data from ModelXTracker.com in saying that only about 7.7 percent of Model X reservations have been for the 70-kWh version of the vehicle, which wasn't expect to hit the road until the second-half of 2016.

Shares of Tesla are up over 1 percent.
