Greenbrier Cos. (GBX) Tops Q2 EPS Views; Boost FY15 EPS Outlook

Greenbrier Cos. (NYSE: GBX) reported Q2 EPS of $1.57, $0.37 better than the analyst estimate of $1.20. Revenue for the quarter came in at $630.15 million versus the consensus estimate of $613.93 million.

New railcar backlog as of February 28, 2015 was 46,000 units with an estimated value of $4.78 billion (average unit sale price of $104,000), compared to 41,200 units with an estimated value of $4.20 billion (average unit sale price of $102,000) as of November 30, 2014.

Greenbrier Cos. sees FY2015 EPS of $5.65 - $5.95, versus prior guidance of $5.20 - $5.50 and the consensus of $5.43. The company is looking for FY15 deliveries of about 21,500 units.
