In addition to solid earnings this morning, Alaska Air Group (NYSE: ALK) announced it raised its dividend 60%. The company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.20 per share, or $0.80 annualized, up from the prior dividend of $0.125. Shares are up 4.3% amid the news.
The dividend will be payable on March 10, 2015, to stockholders of record on February 24, 2015, with an ex-dividend date of February 20, 2015. The annual yield on the dividend is 1.2 percent.
"Record earnings and the number one airline ranking in The Wall Street Journal for the second year in a row are proof that our 13,000 employees continue to do a great job serving our customers and running a reliable operation," said CEO Brad Tilden. "The substantial increase in the dividend underscores our commitment to shareholders and our confidence in the future."
