Nordstrom (JWN) Tops Q3 EPS by 2c; Trims FY14 EPS Outlook

Nordstrom (NYSE: JWN) reported Q3 EPS of $0.73, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.71. Revenue for the quarter came in at $3.14 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.11 billion.

Nordstrom comparable sales, which consist of the full-line and Direct businesses, increased 3.4 percent. Top-performing merchandise categories included Accessories, Cosmetics, and Men's Apparel.

Nordstrom sees FY2014 EPS of $3.70-$3.75, versus prior guidance of $3.8-$3.9 and the consensus of $3.86. Revs expected to grow 7.5 percent, versus prior expectations of 6.5 - 7.5 percent. Comps growth seen at 3.5 percent, the midpoint of prior guidance.
