Novocure (NASDAQ: NVCR) announced that its Phase 3 TRIDENT trial failed to meet its primary endpoint, showing no statistically significant improvement in overall survival when Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy was initiated at the start of chemoradiation compared to initiating it during the maintenance phase of treatment for newly diagnosed glioblastoma.

In the intent-to-treat population, patients who began TTFields therapy at the start of chemoradiation had a median overall survival of 17.7 months, compared to 17.5 months for those who began TTFields therapy during the maintenance phase (HR 0.953; p=0.519).
