Airbus Helicopters and the Republic of Armenia have signed a contract for the acquisition of six H145 helicopters, according to a statement from Airbus Group (OTC: EADSY).

The agreement was finalized during French President Emmanuel Macron's official state visit to Yerevan. The helicopters will be used for transport missions and mark Armenia's first contract with Airbus Helicopters.

Ludovic Boistot, Vice President and Head of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Caucasus at Airbus Helicopters, commented on the deal: "This first contract is a testament to the growing partnership between our company and Armenia, and we are proud to support the nation in modernising its aerial capabilities."

The H145 is a twin-engine helicopter powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines. It is equipped with a full authority digital engine control system, the Helionix digital avionics suite, and a four-axis autopilot. The five-bladed version of the aircraft offers increased payload capacity and a simplified maintenance regime.

More than 1,800 H145 family helicopters are currently in service, having logged more than 8.5 million flight hours in total.
