AIR CANADA opens first lounge at Québec City airport

June 16, 2026 8:02 AM

Air Canada has opened a new Air Canada Café at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), marking the first dedicated premium lounge at the terminal. The 97-seat space, operated in partnership with Plaza Premium Group, spans 3,616 square feet and is the seventh Air Canada Café location overall.

The lounge is accessible to eligible domestic customers, including Aeroplan Elite members at the 50K tier and above, Star Alliance Gold members, Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders, and Business Class passengers departing on Air Canada and Star Alliance flights from YQB.

The space features locally sourced food and beverage offerings, including items developed with Québec-based and Indigenous partners. Menu items include signature breakfast pancakes with pumpkin seed spread sourced from the Mi'gmaq Nation of Gespeg, a build-your-own power bowl bar, local cheeses, and a full-service bar offering specialty coffee, cocktails, and beers from local brewery La Souche. Every seat includes power access with USB-C ports.

The lounge features two commissioned artworks: Flow by abstract artist Antonietta Grassi, and 1982 by visual artist and novelist Douglas Coupland.

"Travellers love Québec City for its food, charm and character," said Jacqueline Harkness, Managing Director, Product & Services at Air Canada. "With this new Air Canada Café, we've created a space that feels like a love letter to the city."

The YQB opening follows a new Air Canada Café and a refreshed domestic Maple Leaf Lounge at Montréal-Trudeau. According to the press release, Air Canada added over 500 lounge seats worldwide last year as part of a multi-year lounge modernization program.

Air Canada shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: AC).
