Iveda upgrades location system to 10cm precision with new sensors

June 15, 2026 8:02 AM

Iveda Solutions (NASDAQ: IVDA) announced an upgrade to its IvedaRTLS Real-Time Location System that incorporates Bluetooth Angle of Arrival technology to achieve positioning accuracy within 10 centimeters. The enhanced platform targets hospitals, manufacturers, and logistics operators for tracking assets and personnel.

The system includes anchors, tags, management software, dashboards, alarms, and API integrations. Each anchor device provides coverage extending more than 25 meters and can be configured for indoor, outdoor, and industrial environments. The platform supports ceiling or wall mounting with Ethernet connectivity and Power over Ethernet.

"The gap between knowing roughly where something is and knowing exactly where it is—that gap is where hospitals lose equipment, manufacturers lose time, and organizations lose money," said David Ly, CEO and Founder of Iveda. "This upgrade closes the gap, giving organizations visibility precise enough to make appropriate decisions immediately."

The system is compatible with Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0+ devices and supports iOS, Android, and HarmonyOS platforms. Iveda designed the platform for interference resistance and stable trajectory tracking.

Changhua Christian Hospital in Taiwan, which operates over 4,000 beds across multiple facilities, deployed the system to address equipment tracking challenges. The hospital was losing critical medical devices including wheelchairs, IV pumps, and heart defibrillators.

"With IvedaRTLS, they discovered that patients were unintentionally taking hospital-owned wheelchairs home," said Spencer Shih of Realink, one of Iveda's systems integrator partners in Taiwan. The hospital now uses the system's geo-fencing feature to receive alerts when wheelchairs move beyond designated areas.

The information comes from a company press release statement.
