Adani Enterprises and Jabil plan AI data center manufacturing alliance in India
Adani Group and Jabil Inc. (NYSE: JBL) announced their intent to form a strategic alliance to establish an AI and data center infrastructure manufacturing platform in India.
The partnership combines Jabil's manufacturing expertise with Adani Group's infrastructure network and energy portfolio to address demand for AI-ready data center hardware. The platform plans to deploy multi-gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capacity in India.
The alliance encompasses manufacturing of computing racks, Power Distribution Units, Coolant Distribution Units, transformers, switchgears, and thermal management systems. The companies stated they are working on definitive operational frameworks and formal documentation.
Jabil reported $29.8 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025. The company has expanded U.S. infrastructure and acquired Hanley Energy Group and Mikros Technologies to enhance its capabilities in power management and thermal solutions.
India's data center market is projected to reach 5-8 gigawatts by 2030, according to industry forecasts cited in the announcement. Global hyperscalers have planned more than $50 billion in spending across India's data center, cloud, and AI ecosystems.
The alliance aligns with Adani Group's commitment to develop 5 gigawatts of green-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centers by 2035. The Union Budget 2026 provides a tax holiday for data centers until 2047.
"This strategic collaboration with Adani Group is another step forward in our efforts to create long-term value for customers throughout the AI ecosystem," said Mike Dastoor, CEO of Jabil.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, stated the alliance represents "a decisive step in building India's complete AI infrastructure stack — from green power generation to world-class hardware manufacturing."
The announcement included forward-looking statements noting risks and uncertainties that could affect the potential collaboration, including the possibility of not reaching a binding agreement.
