Gogo receives approval for Galileo system on Dassault Falcon 7X/8X jets
Gogo Inc. (NASDAQ: GOGO) announced that Dassault Falcon Jet MRO received Supplemental Type Certificates from the Federal Aviation Administration and European Union Aviation Safety Agency for installing the Gogo Galileo connectivity system on Dassault Falcon 7X and 8X aircraft.
The approval allows installation of the Gogo Galileo HDX antenna on these ultra-long-range business jets. The system operates on the Eutelsat OneWeb low earth orbit network and provides internet speeds of up to 60 Mbps through an electronically steered antenna designed for light- to large-cabin aircraft.
"Connectivity has become a core element of the Falcon customer experience, particularly on long-range missions flown by the Falcon 7X and 8X," said Frederic Cadiou, Sales Support Director at Dassault MRO. The system provides global coverage for passengers and crew during flights.
The Gogo Galileo system includes cybersecurity protections and 24/7 customer support in multiple languages. Michael Skou Christensen, Chief Commercial Officer at Gogo, noted that cybersecurity and privacy considerations have become priorities for customers, particularly regarding new PART-IS regulations in Europe where many Falcon aircraft operate.
The HDX antenna is described as compact, lightweight and low power, optimized for the aircraft types it serves. Gogo positions itself as a multi-orbit, multi-band connectivity provider for business and government aviation, combining air-to-ground systems with satellite network access.
