BrightSpring Health Services appoints Dr. Nigam Shah to board

BrightSpring Health Services (NASDAQ: BTSG) appointed Dr. Nigam H. Shah to its board of directors as a Class III member on June 11. Shah will also serve on the board's Quality and Compliance Committee.



Shah is a professor of medicine and biomedical data science at Stanford University, where he also serves as chief data scientist at Stanford Healthcare and associate dean for health information and data science. He joined Stanford as an assistant professor in 2011, received tenure in 2015, and was promoted to his current role in 2020.



The appointment brings expertise in healthcare technology and artificial intelligence to BrightSpring's board. Shah has co-founded three companies and serves on the boards of Prealize Health and Atropos Health. He is also a co-founder of the Coalition for Health AI.

Shah's career recognitions include fellowships with the Association of American Physicians and the American College of Medical Informatics, as well as induction into the American Society for Clinical Investigation.



BrightSpring provides home- and community-based health services including pharmacy, home health care, and rehabilitation services across all 50 states, serving over 475,000 customers daily according to the company's statement.
