Exclusive: Webull to launch AI protocol letting investors trade in plain language

June 11, 2026 8:52 AM

Investing.com -- Webull is set to launch a Model Context Protocol server that will allow investors to interact with its trading infrastructure through natural language AI commands, Investing.com has learned.

The protocol is expected to remove the programming barrier that has historically kept advanced trading tools out of reach for most retail investors.

The online investment platform’s MCP server has been operational since April, quietly enabling clients to access Webull’s OpenAPI without any coding knowledge.

The tool connects AI agents directly to Webull’s trading infrastructure, allowing users to query real-time market data, view account balances and positions, and place, modify, and cancel orders through plain-language instructions.

The launch is a continued shift in how self-directed retail investors can engage with institutional-grade tools.

Previously, Webull’s OpenAPI capabilities were accessible only to developers and quantitatively oriented users.

The MCP server effectively democratizes that access, handing retail investors the same underlying functionality through a conversational interface.

Anthony Denier, Group President and U.S. CEO of Webull, believes AI is fundamentally reshaping how investors engage with markets, with the firm building what it sees as a foundational capability for the next generation of self-directed investors.

The capability will be available to all U.S. clients at launch, with a rollout to additional international markets planned for the near future.

The move positions Webull as one of the leading trading platforms exploring AI-native interfaces as competition for retail trading market share continues to intensify.
