Laser Photonics completes anti-drone prototype, begins demonstrations
Laser Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: LASE) announced it completed assembly of its Laser Shield Anti-Drone prototype and started preparing for demonstrations with U.S. government representatives and international defense stakeholders.
The Orlando-based company said the LSAD system addresses threats from small unmanned aerial systems in counter-drone operations and defense of critical infrastructure. The prototype completion marks a transition from engineering development to performance demonstration phase.
The company is assembling multiple LSAD configurations at its Lake Mary, Florida facility, including pallet-mounted systems for fixed deployment, crawler-mounted systems for mobile operations, and manual roller systems for field deployment. Additional modular configurations are being developed for various operational environments.
Laser Photonics is developing both Trade Agreements Act-compliant models and non-TAA-restricted configurations to address different procurement channels including U.S. government, allied nations, and international security markets.
The company was selected as a top submission in the Counter C5ISR-T category under the Department of War's Mission Engineering and Integration Activity Vulcan Call for Solutions. Following participation at Special Operations Forces Week in Tampa, Florida, the company reported increased engagement from international defense organizations.
"The completion of our LSAD prototype is a pivotal achievement for Laser Photonics and a major step toward commercialization of our defense technology," said Wayne Tupuola, chief executive officer. "We are now entering the most important phase - demonstrating real-world performance to U.S. and international stakeholders who are actively seeking solutions to counter evolving aerial threats."
The company plans to validate system performance through live demonstrations, expand engagement with defense agencies and international partners, and position for potential procurement opportunities. Information is based on a company press release statement.
