Infosys (NYSE: INFY) announced it has completed the CMMI AI Maturity pilot assessment conducted by CMMI Institute. The company participated as a pilot contributor to help develop the CMMI AI Maturity framework, which enables organizations to assess and improve AI implementation across enterprise environments.

As part of the pilot program, Infosys worked with CMMI Institute and KPMG to validate how AI maturity can be assessed across large organizations. The assessment covered AI-augmented software development, maintenance, testing, and support initiatives across Infosys' service lines and delivery hubs.

The evaluation examined how AI is embedded across the software engineering lifecycle, focusing on productivity, quality, governance, and responsible AI practices. Infosys provided implementation insights that helped shape key dimensions of the CMMI AIM Model, including performance alignment to business outcomes, consistency of AI practices, risk management, and accountability in AI-driven decision-making.

"The CMMI AIM pilot marks a significant step in our journey to unlock the true value of AI," said Dinesh Rao, Executive Vice President and Chief Delivery Officer at Infosys. "As one of the initial organizations to pilot the CMMI AIM framework and contribute to the content and assessment method, we are defining what responsible, enterprise-grade AI adoption looks like in practice."

Ron Lear, Vice President of CMMI Global Strategies at CMMI Institute, stated that Infosys brought practical perspectives to the pilot, reflecting the realities of deploying AI at scale in a global enterprise. The participation provided insights that confirmed the usefulness of CMMI AIM practices for structured AI adoption.

The CMMI AI Maturity framework links AI practices and governance to measurable outcomes, enabling organizations to benchmark and improve their AI implementations across regulatory environments. Infosys applied the framework across large-scale delivery environments to ensure the model reflects enterprise adoption realities.
