Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN) received a $22 million contract amendment from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority for multimodal improvements along the I-605 corridor. The contract extends Parsons' existing agreement by 3.5 years.

The improvements will add bicycle lanes, enhance sidewalks, and improve transit access as part of Metro's Multimodal Highway Investment Objectives. The project includes managed lanes on I-605 and improved connectivity between freeway ramps and local streets.

"For over 20 years, Parsons has long been a trusted partner to Metro and the people of Los Angeles, helping them navigate the state – and world – seamlessly," said Mark Fialkowski, president of Infrastructure North America for Parsons.

The I-605 corridor project involves a partnership with Caltrans and the Gateway Cities Corridor Council of Governments. The corridor currently experiences high congestion levels, and the improvements aim to enhance safety, increase traffic flow, and reduce commute times.

The project will utilize managed lane solutions as part of Metro's commitment to increasing mobility and moving people efficiently across the corridor. The improvements are designed to accommodate multiple transportation modes including vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, and public transit.

According to the press release, Parsons has delivered infrastructure projects spanning more than 10,000 miles of roadways, 4,500 bridges, and over 50 advanced traffic management system deployments.
