Vir Biotechnology appoints Timothy Coughlin to board of directors
Vir Biotechnology, Inc. (NASDAQ: VIR) announced the appointment of Timothy Coughlin to its board of directors and as chair of the audit committee, effective June 9, 2026.
Coughlin previously served as chief financial officer of Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc., where he helped transition the company from clinical-stage to a commercial pharmaceutical company. Before Neurocrine, he held positions at Catholic Health Initiatives as vice president of financial services and at Ernst & Young LLP as senior manager in the health sciences practice.
The new board member currently serves as chair of the board of directors of aTyr Pharma, Inc. and sits on the boards of ADC Therapeutics SA and Travere Therapeutics, Inc. His previous board experience includes Fate Therapeutics, Inc. and Peloton Therapeutics, Inc., which was sold to Merck in 2019.
Coughlin holds a master's degree in international business from San Diego State University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Temple University. He is a certified public accountant in California and Pennsylvania.
