June 10, 2026 4:00 PM

Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) launched a new aircraft livery in partnership with the Seattle FIFA World Cup 2026 Local Organizing Committee. The airline became an Official Seattle World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter through the collaboration.

The custom design appears on a Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft with tail number 985AK. The livery features the Seattle Host City logo and a soccer ball graphic, along with a whale tail design representing Pacific Northwest maritime heritage. The underside of the aircraft displays "WE ARE SEATTLE" in bold letters.

The design draws inspiration from the official Seattle Host City poster and incorporates elements symbolizing the region's identity and Alaska Airlines' connection to Seattle, according to the company's press release.

"We could not ask for a better hometown supporter than Alaska Airlines to carry Seattle and our region's story to the world," said Peter Tomozawa, CEO of SeattleFWC26. "This livery is more than a design; it is a reflection of who we are as the Pacific Northwest, innovative, welcoming, and proud, and an open invitation to experience that firsthand."

Alaska Airlines' partnership with SeattleFWC26 includes support for community initiatives throughout spring and summer. These include backing an inaugural Blind Soccer international tournament, community art installations highlighting nonprofit partnerships with organizations such as Northwest Association for Blind Athletes and the Museum of Flight, and participation in a flag raising ceremony at the Space Needle.

"We are honored to welcome the world to Seattle alongside the local Seattle FIFA World Cup Host Committee," said Eric Edge, Vice President of Brand and Marketing at Alaska Airlines.

Seattle serves as one of 16 Host Cities selected for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Alaska Airlines operates from Seattle as one of its primary hub cities.
