UBS analyst Michael Lasser lowered the price target on Academy Sports & Outdoors Inc. (NASDAQ: ASO) to $55.00 (from $56.00) while maintaining a Neutral rating.
The analyst commented, "While ASO's 1Q print had its puts and takes, our main takeaway is that the company is starting to take control of its destiny. Its 2.9% comp growth was supported by broad-based trends across its four categories, and strength from its higher-income customer cohorts was a bright spot in light of the unfavorable backdrop. But, the main focus from the print was on the company's 2026 outlook. Although it raised its comp and EPS guidance for the full-year, the debate continues to center on whether ASO can drive sustainable positive comp growth over a prolonged period."
