SOPHiA GENETICS appoints Ross Muken as CEO effective July 1
SOPHiA GENETICS (NASDAQ: SOPH) confirmed leadership changes ahead of its June 18 annual general meeting, with current President Ross Muken set to become chief executive officer on July 1, 2026.
The board appointed Muken, who has served as president since November 2024, and nominated him for election as a board member. Co-founder Dr. Jurgi Camblong, currently CEO, was nominated for election as chairman of the board.
Muken joined SOPHiA GENETICS in February 2021, initially serving as chief financial officer before adding chief operating officer duties in March 2023. He previously held executive roles at Click Therapeutics and senior positions at Evercore/ISI Group, Deutsche Bank Securities, and Thomas Weisel Partners.
"I am deeply honored by Jurgi and the Board's confidence in me to lead SOPHiA GENETICS at this important moment," Muken stated in the announcement.
Troy Cox, who has served as chairman since March 2020, was nominated for re-election as a non-executive board member. Cox previously served as CEO of Foundation Medicine through its 2018 acquisition by Roche.
During Cox's tenure as chairman, SOPHiA GENETICS completed its Nasdaq initial public offering in 2021 and expanded its network to nearly 1,000 healthcare institutions across more than 75 countries. The company's platform has analyzed more than 2 million genomic profiles.
As executive chairman, Camblong will continue as a full-time executive focusing on technology innovation and long-term strategic direction. The company plans to introduce a lead independent director role and hold regular executive sessions of independent directors.
The leadership changes were initially announced in January 2026, according to the company statement.
