Peraso and Virewirx demo 50Gbps wireless network for drone swarms

June 10, 2026 8:01 AM

Peraso Inc. (NASDAQ: PRSO) and Virewirx Inc. demonstrated a wireless communication network achieving aggregate data capacity exceeding 50Gbps, according to a press release from the companies.

The demonstration simulated a drone wireless environment within a large room, where the companies simultaneously transmitted multiple independent multi-gigabit data streams. Peraso provided 60 GHz wireless semiconductor solutions while Virewirx contributed its VX60 High Performance Wireless Network technology.

The 60 GHz wireless technology operates in congested wireless environments and offers low probability of intercept, detection, and jamming characteristics. Combined with Virewirx's network synchronization technology, the system can maintain network coordination without GPS connectivity.

"Our collaboration with Virewirx is a terrific example in which two companies bring complementary technology together to address a complex problem," stated Ron Glibbery, CEO of Peraso. "As drone technology continues to prove itself as a force multiplier in modern warfare, we expect our technologies to further enable next-generation battlefield tactics."

The VX60 network controller can manage large numbers of autonomous devices and maintain network resilience during individual unit failures. Jason Fiber, CEO of Virewirx, said the VX60 network addresses requirements that traditional wireless networks cannot meet for highly dynamic environments.

Beyond defense applications, the companies stated the technology could support dense clusters of autonomous devices in commercial and industrial settings, including automated factories with robot fleets requiring high-capacity wireless connectivity.

Virewirx, formerly known as XCOM Labs, was founded in 2018 by former Qualcomm executives and rebranded in 2023. The company describes itself as providing wireless infrastructure for Physical AI applications.
