Trane Technologies plc (NYSE: TT) appointed Donald E. Simmons as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective July 1, 2026, according to a company statement.

Simmons, 55, currently serves as Group President, Americas, a position he has held since January 2024. He previously worked as Americas Segment Leader and CHVAC Americas President from January 2022 to December 2023, and as President, CHVAC Americas from August 2017 to December 2021.

Under the terms of his new role, Simmons will receive a base salary of $950,000 with an Annual Incentive Matrix Program target of 100% and an annual equity award target opportunity of $4.3 million. The company will also provide him with a one-time long-term equity incentive grant of $400,000 in Restricted Stock Units and $400,000 in stock options, both vesting ratably over three years.

The board of directors made the appointment decision on June 4, 2026, and the company executed an offer letter with Simmons on June 5, 2026. According to the company, Simmons has no direct or indirect material interest in any transaction requiring disclosure under Item 404(a) of Regulation S-K, except as previously disclosed in the company's 2026 Proxy Statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 23, 2026.
