Logitech introduces foldable Mobi Fold mouse for mobile professionals
Logitech International (NASDAQ: LOGI) announced the launch of its Mobi Fold mouse, the company's first foldable mouse designed for portable use. The device is priced at $79.99 in the United States and will be available globally.
The Mobi Fold features a folding mechanism that allows the mouse to collapse to nearly half its size when not in use. The device automatically powers on when unfolded and turns off when folded. According to the company's press release, the mouse reduces muscle strain by 22% compared to laptop trackpads.
The mouse connects to up to three devices via Bluetooth and is compatible with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Android, iPadOS and Linux operating systems. It includes adaptive touch scrolling and two customizable buttons that can be programmed through Logitech's Options+ app.
Logitech cited research indicating that while 72% of professionals own a mouse, only 26% use one when working in public spaces. The company positioned the Mobi Fold as addressing this gap by providing a portable solution.
"For a long time, people have left their mice behind simply because they were a hassle to carry around, not because they didn't want to use one," said Joseph Mingori, VP and General Manager at Logitech.
The device offers up to 30 days of use on a full charge, with a one-minute charge providing 22 hours of operation. It features quiet-click functionality and includes dust-resistant silicone covering. The internal hinge is rated for 15 years of daily use.
The mouse will be available in three colors: Graphite globally, and Lilac and Off-White in select markets. A business version, Mobi Fold for Business, is priced at $89.99 and includes a Logi Bolt USB-C receiver and two-year warranty.
The device is manufactured with up to 36% certified post-consumer recycled plastic in Graphite models and uses magnets containing 100% post-consumer recycled rare earth metal.
