NIQ plans beauty channel measurement and Amazon marketplace tracking
NielsenIQ (NYSE: NIQ) announced plans to launch its Full View of Beauty Channel in the fourth quarter and introduce Amazon third-party marketplace measurement in the third quarter. The consumer intelligence company said these offerings will provide expanded visibility across the beauty retail landscape.
The Full View of Beauty Channel will combine NIQ's measurement across grocery, drug and mass retail with data from beauty retailers including Ulta Beauty, Sephora and Sally Beauty. The solution will also include Amazon's first-party and third-party marketplace sales data.
Amazon third-party measurement will initially focus on Health and Beauty Care categories and provide metrics including volume, share, price and temporary price reduction data. NIQ stated this measurement will integrate with its retail measurement system for cross-channel analysis.
"We are at a pivotal moment in beauty, where growth is being driven by a broader and more complex set of channels than ever before," said Jacqueline Flam, Managing Director, Beauty & Health at NIQ.
The announcements build on NIQ's data sharing collaboration with Ulta Beauty. The company indicated it plans to expand Amazon third-party measurement to additional categories beyond beauty over time.
NIQ operates in more than 90 countries and covers approximately 82% of the world's population, according to the company's statement.
