GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) announced the launch of GridOS for Transmission, a grid intelligence solution designed to coordinate transmission network operations, at its annual Orchestrate 2026 conference.

The software integrates near real-time operations, capacity monitoring, forecasting and system stability functions into a unified platform. GridOS for Transmission combines data from Advanced Energy Management System, Digital Dynamic Line Rating, Wide-Area Monitoring System and forecasting tools to provide transmission operators with centralized decision-making capabilities.

The company stated the solution aims to reduce decision response times, improve transmission capacity utilization and enable faster responses to changing grid conditions. The system incorporates distributed energy resource management, visual intelligence and asset behavior data.

GE Vernova also released two whitepapers examining artificial intelligence applications in utility operations. The first paper addresses autonomous distribution technologies for fault detection, isolation and restoration at the grid edge. The second whitepaper covers AI applications in grid planning, including interconnection analysis, forecasting and risk management through digital grid modeling.

"Meeting rising electricity demand will require more than adding generation, it demands a grid that can coordinate, adapt, and act faster than ever before," said Philippe Piron, CEO of GE Vernova's Electrification segment.

The announcements were made at Orchestrate 2026, the company's grid software conference for utility operators and technology professionals. The conference agenda focuses on software strategies for grid modernization amid increasing electricity demand and renewable energy integration.
