Kymera Therapeutics names Penny Carlson development operations head
Kymera Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: KYMR) appointed Penny Carlson as Senior Vice President, Development Operations, according to a company statement. Carlson will oversee global clinical development operations for the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company's oral immunology portfolio.
Carlson brings more than 20 years of biopharmaceutical experience in clinical program management, study execution and data management. She previously served as Vice President and Head of Global Clinical Development Operations at Takeda, where she led global clinical trial planning and execution across multiple regions and therapeutic areas.
The company also announced that Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Chadwick will retire from his position and remain as an advisor through the end of the year.
"Her proven leadership and deep expertise in shaping global development strategies across large immunology indications will be instrumental as we continue to advance our pipeline through clinical development and toward commercialization," said Nello Mainolfi, founder, president and CEO of Kymera Therapeutics.
Earlier in her career, Carlson held leadership positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Aileron Therapeutics. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Allegheny College.
Kymera focuses on developing targeted protein degradation medicines for immunological diseases. The Watertown, Massachusetts-based company advanced what it describes as the first degrader into clinical trials for immunological diseases.
