Nebius signs 10-year deal for 22MW AI deployment at Kao Data's Harlow campus
Nebius (NASDAQ: NBIS) has entered into a 10-year agreement with Kao Data for a 22-megawatt AI infrastructure deployment at the data center operator's Harlow campus in the UK.
The deployment will support Nebius AI Cloud platform and its managed inference service, Nebius Token Factory. The agreement forms part of Nebius's £1.7 billion investment into the UK, according to the company's press release.
"We're pleased to be continuing our expansion in the UK with Kao Data," said Andrey Korolenko, Chief Product and Infrastructure Officer at Nebius. "The UK is a major destination for AI and is becoming an important part of Nebius's global footprint."
The facility will operate on 100% renewable energy and utilize direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology to reduce water usage. Part of the capacity will be dedicated to Nebius Token Factory, which enables companies to deploy and optimize AI models at scale.
Spencer Lamb, CEO of Kao Data, described the partnership as "a significant milestone in the evolution of the Kao Data portfolio and a landmark moment in the UK's AI ambitions."
Kao Data operates data centers designed for AI and advanced computing, with its Harlow campus housing what the company calls the UK's largest cluster of AI, academic research and life science computing workloads. The company has additional data center developments planned for Park Royal in West London and Greater Manchester.
Nebius positions itself as an AI cloud company building a platform for data and model training through production deployment. The company holds NVIDIA Cloud Partner status and focuses on serving developers and enterprises with AI infrastructure needs.
